CHRISTOPH LANGHOF

Christoph Langhof is a Berlin based architect who founded his office in 1978 shortly after graduating. Soon after college he won a major competition for a swimming baths in Kreuzberg in Berlin. He went on to build a large sports stadium, the Horst Korber Sports Centre in Berlin. He has been involved in many urban planning projects, both realized and theoretical. Teaching has always been one of his primary interests, having taught in many German and European schools, including the AA and Frankfurt.

DEREK TYNAN

Derek Tynan graduated from UCD in 1977 and Cornell University in 1982. He worked in London and Dublin before establishing his own practice in 1990. Member of Group 91 Architects. He has taught Architecture and Urban Design in the USA, England and Ireland. In 1995 he won the Downes Bronze Medal and AAI awards in 1996 and 1997. His work over the last four years has proved to be one of the most consistently modern in spirit displaying an interest in the manipulation of light and form.






DENTAL HOSPITAL, TRINITY

The new facility for the Dental school in Trinity College is a return for Paul Koralek to the Trinity campus after a twenty year absence. ABK were responsible for one of the first modern buildings on campus in the form of Berkeley Library, arguably the finest modern building in Dublin.

PAUL KORALEK

date: Monday 12 May 1997

Paul Koralek graduated from the AA in London having won the competition for the new Berkeley Library in Trinity in 1960 while still a student. The Library, built by G&T; Cramptons, was completed in 1967. The commission for the Arts Block in Trinity followed in the early 1970's. He is currently the architect for the Trinity Dental School which is on site at present. ABK are renowned for their body of work.


 

 



MARCEL MEILI

Marcel Meili is a partner in the Swiss practice Meili and Peter. Their work is featured in numerous international periodicals including Domus and A+U. Their recent work includes a bridge at Murau Kornten. Meili and Peter are one of the leading emerging new practices in Switzerland.
