Books / Irish Architecture Books / Introduction | Irish Architecture Books | International Architecture Books | Publishers | Submit a review A Field Guide to the Buildings of Ireland Sean Rothery Lilliput Press An excellent introduction to the ordinary buildings of Ireland dealing with the many building types that feature in the small towns around Ireland. Illustrated by fine line drawings, the book describes almost 200 buildings from thatched cottages in Kells Co. Meath to vast Victorian mills by way of estate houses, railway stations, schools and dwellings. For anyone wishing to learn more about vernacular Irish architecture, this is as good as introduction as any.
