Architect: Sir Thomas Drew / Cathal O'Neill

Originally a large house on the outskirts of Dublin, Richview Lodge has a varied history. Once a Masonic Boys School, its now the School of Architecture of University College Dublin.
It was extended by Sir Thomas Drew in 1884 in a Victorian Institutional Tudor style to provide facilities for the school with later extensions by Cathal O'Neill for the School of Architecture.
To the rear are two freestanding buildings, the Library and the Memorial Hall of 1928 (built to commemorate the dead from the Great War). Both have Arts and Crafts exteriors. The interior of the Memorial Hall is a wonderful soaring space with a gallery to one side overlooking the main hall. Finished in bare brick and wooden panelling, it is in wonderful condition.
